We describe recent experimental evidence that points to a relation between pairing and phase transitions (or transformations) in finite nuclear systems. A simple pairing interaction model is used in order to study and classify an eventual pairing phase transition in finite fermionic systems such as nuclei. We show that systems with as few as 10-16 fermions can exhibit clear features reminiscent of a phase transition.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2003-09-29T15:31:02.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "pairing correlations", "finite fermionic systems", "eventual pairing phase transition", "finite nuclear systems", "clear features reminiscent" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "doi": "10.1016/j.nuclphysa.2003.11.050" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 629602 } } }
