It is shown that for the electron, with gyromagnetic number $g \\approx 2$, the exponential contribution to the polarization, which usually characterizes the Unruh effect, is \"hidden\" in the standard Sokolov-Ternov effect making it hard to observe. Thus, our conclusions are different in detail from previous work.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v4", "updated": "2007-05-13T23:18:11.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "04.70.Dy", "04.62.+v" ], "keywords": [ "unruh effect", "spin flip transitions", "synchrotron radiation", "circular acceleration", "storage rings" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "journal": "International Journal of Modern Physics A", "year": 2007, "volume": 22, "number": 26, "pages": 4797 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 23, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 730278, "adsabs": "2007IJMPA..22.4797A" } } }
