We clarify the role played by derivative corrections to the Born-Infeld (BI) action. The qulitative differences from the case without derivative corrections are: (i) there is no particlelike solution. (ii) the existence of the inner horizon is restricted to the near extreme solutions. (iii) contribution of the BI parameter $b$ to the gravitational mass and the Hawking temperature works in the opposite direction.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v3", "updated": "2004-03-17T04:27:56.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "black hole solutions", "derivative corrections", "born-infeld electrodynamics", "opposite direction", "inner horizon" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "IOP", "journal": "Journal of Cosmology and Astro-Particle Physics", "year": 2004, "month": "May", "volume": 2004, "number": 5, "pages": "004" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 5, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 630978, "adsabs": "2004JCAP...05..004T" } } }
