We prove the existence of such descent for many Shimura varieties whose associated adjoint group has certain factors of type A or D. This includes a large family of Shimura varieties of abelian type. Our considerations and constructions are carried out purely at the level of Shimura data and group theory.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2016-02-21T20:10:27.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "11G18", "11G35", "11E57", "20G30" ], "keywords": [ "shimura varieties", "complex conjugation", "maximal totally real field", "shimura data", "abelian type" ], "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 19, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2016arXiv160206572B" } } }
