We find that there should be two additions to the well-known $T$- or $PT$-invariance of the microscopic laws of motion: 1. Equilibrium should not spontaneously break the relevant $T$- or $PT$-symmetry. 2. The macroscopic processes should be microscopically distinguishable to guarantee persistence of detailed balance in the model reduction from micro- to macrokinetics. We briefly discuss examples of the violation of these rules and the corresponding violation of detailed balance.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2014-07-25T15:03:39.000Z", "comment": "5 pages", "journal": null, "doi": null }, { "version": "v2", "updated": "2014-09-08T18:42:13.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "detailed balance", "macrokinetics", "micro-distinguishability", "macro-processes", "microscopic laws" ], "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 7, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2014arXiv1407.6927G" } } }
