This approach provides us with a formal solution of the complete measurement dynamics for quadratic Hamiltonians and we can therefore discuss the measurement uncertainty and optimal measurement times. As a main result, we obtain a lower bound for the uncertainty of a noisy measurement, which is an extension of a previously known uncertainty relation and in which the squeezing of the system state to be measured plays an important role. This also allows us to classify minimal uncertainty states in more detail.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2014-05-06T13:10:18.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "03.65.Ta", "03.65.Yz" ], "keywords": [ "pointer-based simultaneous measurements", "conjugate observables", "thermal environment", "quantum brownian motion", "complete measurement dynamics" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review A", "year": 2014, "month": "May", "volume": 89, "number": 5, "pages": "052111" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2014PhRvA..89e2111H" } } }
