We clarify the conditions on the geometry that lead to a break-down of monotonic RG flows as is expected for generic Lorentz-violating field theories. Nevertheless we identify a set of simple criteria on the UV behavior of the geometry which guarantee a monotonic c-function. Our analysis can thus be used as a guiding principle for the construction of monotonic RG trajectories, and can also prove useful for excluding possible IR behaviors of the theory.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2013-11-13T21:00:28.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "11.25.Tq" ], "keywords": [ "holographic entanglement entropy", "constraints", "generic lorentz-violating field theories", "monotonic rg trajectories", "broken lorentz invariance" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review D", "year": 2014, "month": "Mar", "volume": 89, "number": 6, "pages": "065041" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 5, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 1264518, "adsabs": "2014PhRvD..89f5041C" } } }
