The calculation allows for a Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker space-time and a time-dependent expectation value for the scalar field. Treating the time-dependent masses as two-point interactions, we use the in-in formalism to compute the first, second and third order graphs that contribute quadratic and logarithmic divergences to the effective scalar action. Working in R-xi gauge we show that the result is gauge invariant upon using the equations of motion.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v2", "updated": "2012-11-07T11:04:12.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "abelian higgs model", "effective action", "time-dependent expectation value", "third order graphs", "gauge invariant" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "doi": "10.1088/1475-7516/2012/11/043", "journal": "Journal of Cosmology and Astro-Particle Physics", "year": 2012, "month": "Nov", "volume": 2012, "number": 11, "pages": "043" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 30, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 1124116, "adsabs": "2012JCAP...11..043G" } } }
