The emphasis is on the dynamics related to the generation of the chiral shift parameter in the normal ground state. We argue that the chiral shift parameter contributes to the axial current density, but does not modify the conventional axial anomaly relation. The analysis based on gauge invariant regularization schemes in the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model suggests that these findings should be valid also in gauge theories. It is pointed out that the chiral shift parameter can affect observable properties of compact stars and modify the key features of the chiral magnetic effect in heavy ion collisions.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v2", "updated": "2011-11-22T20:27:57.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "magnetic field", "relativistic matter", "gauge invariant regularization schemes", "chiral shift parameter contributes", "axial current density" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "journal": "Progress in Particle and Nuclear Physics", "year": 2012, "month": "Apr", "volume": 67, "number": 2, "pages": 547 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 7, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 945949, "adsabs": "2012PrPNP..67..547G" } } }
