The crucial role of the Ward-Takahashi identities to describe the rotational states is emphasized. We show explicitly how the rotor picture emerges from the isoscalar Goldstone modes, and how the two-rotor model emerges from the isovector scissors modes. As an application of the formalism, we discuss the M1 sum rules in deformed nuclei, and make connection to empirical information.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2011-06-08T03:34:46.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "21.10.Ky", "21.10.Re", "21.60.Ev" ], "keywords": [ "deformed nuclei", "rotational states", "analytic approach", "m1 sum rules", "isovector scissors modes" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review C", "year": 2011, "month": "Jan", "volume": 84, "number": 1, "pages": "014327" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 19, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 913073, "adsabs": "2011PhRvC..84a4327B" } } }
