Summarising the work of an international study group, motivation, use cases and technical details are given for an organised effort to secure and enable future use of past, present and future experimental data. As a practical use case and motivation, the revival of JADE data and the corresponding latest results on measuring $\\alpha_s$ in NNLO QCD are reviewed.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2010-09-20T10:25:22.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "high energy physics", "data preservation", "international study group", "utmost importance", "nnlo qcd" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "journal": "Nuclear Physics B Proceedings Supplements", "year": 2010, "month": "Oct", "volume": 207, "pages": 156 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 5, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 868900, "adsabs": "2010NuPhS.207..156B" } } }
