The expansion relies on the transformation to center of mass and relative coordinate (in the spirit of Talmi's method) and therefore it is only useful (finite number of expansion terms) for harmonic oscillator single particle states. The converge of the expansion with the number of terms retained is studied for a Gaussian two body interaction. The limit of a contact (delta) force is also considered. Ways to handle the general case are also discussed.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2010-03-25T03:12:49.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "21.30.-x", "21.60.Jz" ], "keywords": [ "two-body matrix elements", "separable approximation", "harmonic oscillator single particle states", "arbitrary local interactions", "mean-field calculations" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review C", "year": 2010, "month": "Apr", "volume": 81, "number": 4, "pages": "044312" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 10, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 849981, "adsabs": "2010PhRvC..81d4312R" } } }
