We find symmetry energy has a significant influence on several features of liquid-gas phase transition. The boundary and area of the liquid-gas coexistence region, the maximal isospin asymmetry and the critical values of pressure and isospin asymmetry all of which systematically increase with increasing softness in the density dependence of symmetry energy. The critical temperature below which the liquid-gas mixed phase exists is found higher for a softer symmetry energy.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2010-01-14T06:36:12.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "21.65.Ef", "21.65.Cd" ], "keywords": [ "hot asymmetric nuclear matter", "liquid-gas phase transition", "nuclear symmetry energy effects", "isospin asymmetry" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "doi": "10.1103/PhysRevC.81.064304", "journal": "Physical Review C", "year": 2010, "month": "Jun", "volume": 81, "number": 6, "pages": "064304" }, "note": { "typesetting": "RevTeX", "pages": 5, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 842801, "adsabs": "2010PhRvC..81f4304S" } } }
