Those measures are then used to motivate generalised Lagrangians meant to probe shorter distance physics within the maximum uncertainty framework. The modified evolution equations that follow are necessarily nonlinear and simultaneously violate Lorentz invariance, supporting previous heuristic arguments linking quantum nonlinearity with Lorentz violation. The nonlinear equations also break discrete symmetries. We discuss the implications of our results for physics in the neutrino sector and cosmology.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v2", "updated": "2011-03-26T15:44:34.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "particle physics", "information", "probe shorter distance physics", "heuristic arguments linking quantum nonlinearity", "simultaneously violate lorentz invariance" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "journal": "Modern Physics Letters A", "year": 2011, "volume": 26, "number": 9, "pages": 681 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 827667, "adsabs": "2011MPLA...26..681N" } } }
