At asymptotically large densities, three-flavor quark matter is in the color-flavor locked (CFL) state. The currCFL-K^0 state is a way to respond to ``stress'' on the quark Cooper pairing, imposed at more moderate densities by the strange quark mass and the conditions of electric and color neutrality. We show how a kaon supercurrent is incorporated in a purely fermionic formalism, and show that the net current vanishes due to cancellation of fermion and charge-conjugate fermion contributions.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2008-10-23T09:25:47.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "24.85.+p", "26.60.+c", "12.38.Mh" ], "keywords": [ "color-superconducting quark matter", "supercurrent", "dense quark matter", "net current vanishes", "three-flavor quark matter" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "Elsevier", "journal": "Nuclear Physics A", "year": 2009, "month": "Apr", "volume": 820, "number": "1-4", "pages": 49 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 8, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 800414, "adsabs": "2009NuPhA.820...49S" } } }
