Results on the universal scaling functions of the Casimir force $W_{++}(y)$ ($y$ is a temperature-dependant scaling variable) and Gibbs adsorption $\\tilde G(y)$ are presented in spatial dimension $d=3$. Also, the mean-field form of the universal scaling function of the Gibbs adsorption $\\tilde G(y)$ is derived within the local functional theory. Asymptotic behavior of $W_{++}(y)$ for very large values of the scaling variable $y$ is analyzed in {\\it general} dimension $d$.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v2", "updated": "2008-09-10T12:28:11.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "64.60.F-", "05.70.Jk", "68.15.+e" ], "keywords": [ "symmetric boundary conditions", "off-critical casimir effect", "ising slabs", "universal scaling function", "gibbs adsorption" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review Letters", "year": 2008, "month": "Sep", "volume": 101, "number": 12, "pages": 125702 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 4, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2008PhRvL.101l5702B" } } }
