Electron excitation to the upper Landau subband with the opposite spin polarity flips nuclear spins through the hyperfine interaction. The polarized nuclear spins reduce the spin-splitting energy and accelerate the QHE breakdown. The Knight shift of the nuclear spins is also measured by tuning electron density during the irradiation of radio-frequency magnetic fields.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2007-11-21T05:03:46.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "keywords": [ "integer quantum hall effect", "dynamic nuclear polarization", "knight shift measurements", "breakdown regime", "polarity flips nuclear spins" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "journal": "Physica E Low-Dimensional Systems and Nanostructures", "year": 2008, "month": "Mar", "volume": 40, "number": 5, "pages": 1389 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 3, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2008PhyE...40.1389K" } } }
