Conceptual problems are outlined and numerical difficulties are discussed. Both are related to the fact that neither the many-body Hamiltonian nor the wave function of the system appear explicitly in the Density Functional Theory. Similar obstacles are encountered in self-consistent theories utilizing density-dependent effective interactions.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2007-08-03T13:21:49.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "21.10.Dr", "74.20.-z", "31.15.Ew", "21.60.Jz" ], "keywords": [ "density functional theory", "particle-number projection", "particle number symmetry", "theories utilizing density-dependent effective interactions", "self-consistent theories utilizing density-dependent" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review C", "year": 2007, "month": "Nov", "volume": 76, "number": 5, "pages": "054315" }, "note": { "typesetting": "RevTeX", "pages": 0, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "inspire": 757433, "adsabs": "2007PhRvC..76e4315D" } } }
