The term ``Anderson transition'' is understood in a broad sense, including both metal-insulator transitions and quantum-Hall-type transitions between phases with localized states. The emphasis is put on recent developments, which include: multifractality of critical wave functions, criticality in the power-law random banded matrix model, symmetry classification of disordered electronic systems, mechanisms of criticality in quasi-one-dimensional and two-dimensional systems and survey of corresponding critical theories, network models, and random Dirac Hamiltonians. Analytical approaches are complemented by advanced numerical simulations.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v1", "updated": "2007-07-30T11:21:08.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "71.30.+h", "73.43.-f", "72.15.Rn", "73.20.Fz" ], "keywords": [ "anderson transition", "power-law random banded matrix model", "random dirac hamiltonians", "disordered electronic systems", "metal-insulator transitions" ], "tags": [ "journal article", "review article", "famous paper" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Reviews of Modern Physics", "year": 2008, "month": "Oct", "volume": 80, "number": 4, "pages": 1355 }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 63, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2008RvMP...80.1355E" } } }
