This theory takes into account large-scale variations of intensive variables of systems in nonequilibrium stationary states. Ordinary thermodynamics is recovered as a special case of the present theory, and corrections to it can be systematically evaluated. A generalization of Einstein's relation for fluctuations is presented using a maximum entropy condition.", "revisions": [ { "version": "v2", "updated": "2007-07-20T14:26:06.000Z" } ], "analyses": { "subjects": [ "05.70.-a", "05.40.-a", "05.20.-y", "89.75.-k" ], "keywords": [ "fluctuations", "superstatistics", "maximum entropy condition", "nonequilibrium stationary states", "account large-scale variations" ], "tags": [ "journal article" ], "publication": { "publisher": "APS", "journal": "Physical Review E", "year": 2007, "month": "Sep", "volume": 76, "number": 3, "pages": "031102" }, "note": { "typesetting": "TeX", "pages": 16, "language": "en", "license": "arXiv", "status": "editable", "adsabs": "2007PhRvE..76c1102A" } } }
